Welland Experience Matters

I understand, we pay 'alot'.  Taxes must deliver services, period.  Residents must feel served.  Taxes must be as efficient in service delivery and maximize infrastructure investment. The Region needs to focus on outcomes and maximum value for taxpayers.

We need development that is a considerate neighbour.  Density needs to be in key areas such as the downtown.  Supportive infrastructure must be in place or planned for.  Our traffic needs to get moving while protecting pedestrian safety. Development helps support the 'housing ladder' by securing affordable living and housing options in Welland.

Invest, invest, invest.  You can not over invest in our future.  Infrastructure supports the needs of  current residents and future residents.  It provides the backbone for climate change readiness and emergency prepareness. Delayed infrastructure usually increases replacement cost and drives up maintenance costs of older infrastructure.

Police, paramedics, social services, fire and emergency services and hospitals are ALL are swamped dealing with mental health, addiction and homelessness.  We need approaches that deliver results and frees-up our first responders and healthcare.

We can not forget fun.  That includes: community activities nostalgic Welland offerings; fresh events;  responsive community programming and recreational variety that supports a growing community.  Part of having fun is feeling safe in the community.  Police led safety, education and initiatives are important in our community. 

We need a council that functions well on representing you and a council that you can be proud of.  Its a tall order.  Good questions, quality debate, clear and solid answers, that is what you deserve and that is what delivers the best decisions.  We can get there.
